It seems like it would be difficult to open without a key, fingerprint, or prybar. That's about all the good I can say about it. There's no handle on it, so you need to rely on gravity and the springs to push it open. I had to put something under the back to give it a slight forward slant to make sure the door would open, not the most reliable way I want my "quick access" safe to operate.The fingerprint scanner is the main point of concern for me. My wife and I both scanned forefinger and middle finger for both hands. When you scan your fingerprint you have to scan it at least 5 times so it learns your print from different angles, that's all fine and dandy. Except when you're actually trying to open the safe it still takes a few tries to open the safe. I would say on average, no matter which finger we were using, it takes 3 swipes to open it up. The biometric lock works great, easy assembly, perfect size. Fits right on shelf anywhere in the house. Best thing is now I don't have to worry about children finding my firearms. If your looking for something secure, this is a great choice. |
