Just imagine unhinging a regular door, three hinges and bam the door is out.The only difference here is the number of hinges, only one. This thing is going back as we speak...I just took delivery an hour ago and is back in the box... I only owned this safe for about 7 weeks before it the latch completely failed. One time I closed it, and it refused to open afterwards. The fingerprint reader authenticated me and the motor inside the safe would attempt to open the safe, but the door would not open. The bypass key would turn in the tumbler and still the lock would not open. The manufacturer did not reply to me about the problem. I ended up having to cut the safe open to get my belongings out. I will not buy another Stack-On product and would advise others not to either. 8 of 9 people found the following review helpful Excellent value in a quick access safe, Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Stack-On QAS-1200 Quick Access Safe with Electronic Lock, Black (Tools & Home Improvement) I do not believe there is a better value on the market in a quick access safe. This safe is very sturdy. While very few safes of this class can guarantee to completely secure firearms from thieves, this safe will secure your handguns from your children. If properly mounted, it should slow down thieves and give them more work than they are willing to do (after all, they are thieves!!). I would buy this safe again, and would recommend it if you don't want to get into the big bucks. The only reasons this safe does not get 5 stars are 1) the buttons are pretty stiff and require a lot of effort to press. Maybe they will loosen up. 2) There are no rear mounting wholes which would be useful on a shelf (mount to wall studs). |
