However, they are very poorly designed. First, the lids do not keep their seal in the refrigerator. (The cold makes them shrink and they lose their seal.) Second, the lids are two-pieces. In order to wash them, you have to take the flange out of the lid and then put it back in after washing and drying. This is per the instructions---and it's not an easy process. Finally, the lids have so many nooks and crannies in them, they take forever to dry after washing in the dish washer. No matter how you load the dishwasher, they always come out wet. I have had no problems at all with them and do not find them awkward or difficult to use or clean. We have never had the need to take the lids apart for cleaning, and they do get clean. The fit of the lids is very snug, so possibly that could be a problem for some.I love that the contents are easily visible in the clear glass bowls. We are now using them almost exclusively for food storage. They work beautifully for advance preparation, as well. The bowls easily blend with all but the most formal table setting, so you can prepare a salad, for instance, refrigerate it until neede, then bring it to the table in the same bowl. While I really love the heaviness of the glass the lids definitely leave something to be desired. They don't fully seal and easily come off with a small amount of jostling. I use mine to carry lunch items into the office and I've had a couple scares. I'm looking for a brand with a better seal. |
